Kay Monument (detail)

John Kay was a prolific inventor. Plaques around the sides of SD8010 : Kay Monument, Bury commemorate his other inventions as well as the 'flying shuttle', for which he is most famous. This one is on the south face. Kay Gardens and the Kay Monument were opened in April 1908. The monument, which was cleaned and refurbished in 2011, is a Grade II listed structure.
