Young Pilgrim Baptist Church
Under divine inspiration, a small congregation led by Rev. Tureau founded Young Pilgrim Church in 1887, marking the start of a spiritual journey deeply rooted in faith. Initially gathering in a modest home on Foret's Plantation, the congregation embodied the essence of communal worship and fellowship. As the church evolved, it saw a series of relocations under the successive leaderships, reflecting the resilience and adaptability of its congregation. Under Rev. Mose Russ, the church moved to Donier's Plantation, and subsequently, Rev. Thomas Scott led another transition to Comeaux's before finally settling at its current location. Each move accompanied by the construction of new sanctuaries symbolized a new chapter in the church's enduring legacy.
