Uncle Sam Plaza

Near this spot stood the birthplace of Samuel "Uncle Sam" Wilson (1766-1854) Patriot. Participant in 1775. His Troy packing plant fed the soldiers of 1813. His popular nickname, associated with "U.S." on the barrels, gave us the term "Uncle Sam" for United States. Submitted by: Nicole Gustas
