In modern units these are: total capacity: 7.6 million cubic metres top water area: 880,000 square metres top water level: 317m above ordnance datum height of dam above river bed: 36.5m depth of foundations below river bed: 3m length of weir: 119m thickness of dam at base: 32m estimated quantity of masonry: 60,000 cubic metres
