Burrard Bridge Civic Marina

The Burrard Civic Marina is operated by the Vancouver Parks Board. It was constructed in 1963, with the help of a loan of $291,000 from the P.A. Woodward Foundation, with the stated purpose of serving "over 600 small boat owners of average income", as a means of providing working class people with a marina facility for inexpensive boats, without the need to belong to expensive and exclusive yacht clubs.
