There's nothing like Saturday Night
in Tiger Stadium, but it's the
pregame walk down Victory Hill
that energizes the Tigers as they
make their way into Death Valley.
The pregame ritual originally
started many years ago with fans
lining North Stadium Drive hours
before kickoff to watch the Tiger
Marching Band perform as it made
its way to Tiger Stadium from the
band hall.

In 1991, with the Tigers staying on
campus at Broussard Hall the night
before games, former head coach
Curley Hallman started what has
become one of the most
anticipated LSU football pregame
traditions, leading the team by foot
down Victory Hill. That practice
became so popular that every
coach since Hallman has continued
the tradition even though the team
now stays in a hotel the night
before home games.

Now, busses drop the team off two
hours prior t off at the top of
Victory Hill between the Academic
Center and Journalism Building
where the Tigers embark on their
traditional walk to Tiger Stadium.
In 2016, L-Club members (former
football lettermen) joined the team
on the walk down Victory Hill,
affirming the bond between
past and present Tigers.

Today, the Tiger Walk down Victory
Hill is a must-see LSU Gameday
Football Tradition, as thousands of
fans line both sides of Victory Hill
to see the Tigers as they make their
way to Tiger Stadium.
