A plaque on the riverside marks the position of Worcester's medieval bridge over the River Severn; it is about 100 metres upstream from the present bridge which dates from the late eighteenth century. Le Vésinet Promenade is named after Worcester's twin town in France. Its German twin town is Kleve and the riverside walk below the cathedral is named after the city's German twin.
