This Plaque is an informative plaque on the sculpture Táknatréð (Language Tree), located in a suburb of Reykjavík. It reads: Táknatréð was installed in May 2008, the first sculpture which was built in Urriðaholti. The sculpture is made up of a font created by M/M for Medulla, a record by Bjork. The Language Tree was created when MM came to the country for a French culture festival - Pourquoi-Pas in the year 2007. The conceptual drawings for the Language Tree were exhibited at the Design Center of Iceland in Garðabær. With the cooperation of Urriðaholt and the artists, it was decided to build the sculpture in Urriðaholt. Garbríel Friðriksdóttur (the sculptor) created the sculpture and added bas reliefs which hang in the tree like fruit or seeds.
