St. Luke and Odd Fellows Hall
1905
According to a previous plaque, which has since been removed, this is the church building for African Americans who lived in the town of Blacksburg, in the neighborhood "New Town". The new plaque stated that it is "The Social and Ceremonial Center" but leaves out that it was for the people who were black, presumably because they were not allowed at theamh churches within the "16 Squares" of historic Blacksburg (the town name originates from the founder's last name; it is irrelevant to this bit of history)
Another plaque around the corner states "This property is listed under the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of the Interior"and two more plaques say it is registered as a Virginia Historic Landmark, and is a Blacksburg Historic Structure.
