Plaque reads "Springfield General Hospital
1914
This building was established as Springfield's second hospital, built to accommodate the increasing population and the need for greater health care. It served a vital role in the 1918 Spanish Influenza Epidemic when half a million people died nationwide. It shows Bungalow Style influences and is one of the oldest remaining wood frame buildings in Lane County that served as a hospital. It was later named the Historic House Apartments. A small building called the Pest House is located a few doors down on the left. It housed patients that had communicable diseases."
