Sidney Simien "Rockin' Sidney" (1938-1998)
Born in LeBeau, Rockin' Sidney's musical background focused on rhythm and blues, from the 1950s to the 70s. Rockin' Sidney incorporated into zydeco almost every style of music, from Caribbean beats to blues. Some of his hits included, "No Good Woman," "You Ain't Nothing But Fine," and "Tell Me." In 1985, his biggest hit, "My Toot Toot," became known worldwide, and became the biggest selling zydeco single of all time, and won a Grammy Award.
