ROSEMONDE E. AND EMILE KUNTZ ROOMS
THESE ROOMS, EXHIBITING CHOICE EXAMPLES OF AMERICA'S FINE AND DECORATIVE ARTS HERITAGE IN NEW ORLEANS, WERE FIRST CONCEIVED BY FELIX HERWIG KUNTZ (1890-1971), THE DEAN OF AMERICANA IN LOUISIANA.
THE ROOMS ARE A MEMORIAL TO HIS MOTHER AND FATHER, ROSEMONDE E. AND EMILE KUNTZ. FAILING HEALTH LED MR. KUNTZ TO CHARGE HIS BROTHER, EMILE NICHOLAS KUNTZ (1906-1980), WHO WAS AN ENTHUSIASTIC AND KNOWLEDGEABLE COLLECTOR HIMSELF, WITH THE CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING OF THE ROOMS.
UPON HIS UNTIMELY DEATH, HIS WIDOW AND DAUGHTERS, KAROLYN KUNTZ WESTERVELT AND ROSEMONDE KUNTZ CAPOMAZZA DI CAMPOLATTARO, HONORED HER HUSBAND AND THEIR FATHER BY COMPLETING THE ROOMS. IT IS THEIR INTENTION TO CONTINUE ADDING TO THE COLLECTION, WHICH NOW SERVES AS A FITTING MEMORIAL TO THE KUNTZ BROTHERS AND THEIR PARENTS.
