Joseph John’s Homestead
Joseph Johns was an escaped slave who came to Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, in the mid-1800s and made a living producing charcoal on the slopes of Blue Mountain in what is now Bashore Scout Reservation. He is said to have been 112 years old when he died in 1906.
