"Jitney"
The "Jitneys" replaced mules and manpower in moving lumber buggies around the mill yard.
The 2 jitneys were built in the machine shop at Long Leaf from Chevrolet engines and scrap metal under the supervision of Dick Stokeld, foreman from 1948 to 1954.
