In honor of the women settlers of the Westfjords
This small brass plaque is affixed to a large boulder on a finger of land between Álftafjöður (Swans' Fjord) and Seyðisfjöður. The dramatic vista is hard to ignore and this little plaque is easy to miss. It reads:
The Organization of Women of West Fjords erected this memorial in the year 1980 to honor the women who settled the West Fjords.
