Mouat's installed Salt Spring's first electric
generator here in the 1920s. Later, Mouat's
made sausages and smocked hams here.
From 1935, the building was used as
a residence, first by Margaret Manson,
pioneer Jane Mouat's younger sister.
In 1969, it became a shop.
