The Memory of Hal and Ruth Launders

HERE RESTS THE MEMORY OF HAL AND RUTH LAUNDERS WHO
CALLED THIS PLACE THEIR HOME FOR THE LAST HALF OF THE 20TH
CENTURY. ARROWHEAD FARM, A PATCHWORK OF GENTLE PASTURE
AND SPOTTED WOODLAND, STRETCHED 300 ACRES TO THE WEST.

RUTH, A CHILD OF THE OKLAHOMA PLAIN, TENDED THE FIELDS AND
BRED PRIZE-WINNING BLACK ANGUS CATTLE. HAL, A CONNECTICUT
YANKEE, SOLD REAL ESTATE AND LED IN CIVIC AFFAIRS. EACH DIED
A VIRGINIAN, PEACEFULLY ASLEEP IN THE RANCH HOUSE THAT
STOOD A STONE'S THROW FROM YOU. TODAY WHAT WAS ONCE
ARROWHEAD FARM IS NOW ARROWBROOK CENTRE RISING ON THE
HILL ABOVE THE STREAM, MERRYBROOK RUNNING BESIDE YOU.

TIME AND NATURE BECKON OUR MORTALITY, BUT THE LAND
ENDURES, A GIFT FROM GOD. ITS FORM YIELDS TO THE LABOR OF
MAN. HIS HANDIWORK A TESTAMENT TO THE BEAUTY OF ALL
CREATION.
