JEAN BAPTISTE BEAUBIEN

On this site, then the lake shore,

Jean Baptiste Beaubien, Chicago's second

civilian, in 1817, built a "mansion" to which

he brought his bride, Josette LaFramboise.

It remained their home until 1845.
