This stone in the street commemorates that at this location a woman called "zuster Bertken" was (at her own will) walled in a small compartment in the wall of the "Buurkerk" church in AD 1457. She stayed there in volunteery solitary confinement until her death in AD1514, as a penance for her sins. She thought herself sinful because she was the illegitimate daughter of Jacob van Lichtenberg, provost of the chapter of the Pieterskerk in Utrecht..
