This plaque explains the stone on the corner of the street, which is chained to the building. The stone was placed to protect the building from being damaged by passing carriages. Legend has it that devils would play around with these stones at night. people complaind about the noise, and after a priest chased the devils away, the stone was chained to the building. As far back as 1520 this stone was named the "gesloten steen". The building itself was a cigar factory from 1844-1895. Submitted by Danny Kalkhoven.
