Terry Fox was born in Winnipeg in 1958, but moved to Port Coquitlam in 1968 and called the city his hometown. This statue is outside the library that is named for him.
Note: “C.C.” stands for Companion of the Order of Canada. This is the highest level of the Order of Canada and is awarded to those who have demonstrated the highest degree of merit to Canada and humanity, on the national or international scene. Terry is the youngest Companion ever.
