This is a plaque and fresco of Sigríður from Brattholt, located at Gullfoss (Golden Falls) in Iceland's Golden Circle. The plague tells the story of Sugrídur from Brattholt. Her family owned the land on which Gullfoss, one of the most dramatic waterfalls in Iceland. When development threatened the waterfall, she protested threatening to throw her body into the chasm if the waterfall was not protected. She and her sisters lead tourists to the spot, building the trail system. She died in 1957.
