Promenade opened 2nd October 1926

A plaque on the seawall at Harrowside states "This promenade from Victoria Pier to Squires Gate was opened by the Rt. Hon. The Earl of Derby, K.G. P.C. G.C.B. on 2nd October 1926 (The Jubilee year of incorporation of the Borough). Chairman of Highways Commee. Alderman R Fenton, J.P. Mayor of Blackpool Alderman T. Bickerstaffe J.P. Francis Wood M.Inst.C.E. Borough Engineer D.L. Harbottle LL.B. Town Clerk."
