The irregularly shaped stone plaque is on the south side of the London House - for context see TQ3082 : The Dickens House Museum. It reads "This library is dedicated to Sir Charles Parsons 1854-1931 scientist and engineer who in the xix century invented and perfected the compound steam turbine. The memory of the great is enshrined in books."
