Parkes Elvis Festival
There doesn't seem to be any compelling reason why there is a Elvis festival in country NSW other than that they can. This plaque is next to a Elvis wall of fame.
The Plaque reads:
'Parkes Elvis Festival
A committee was formed in 1992 and the festival was held on in January 1993. The festival is held on the second weekend in January each year with many activities. Each year an Australian entertainer is honoured on the Elvis wall of honour.
More information is available at the tourist centre. Come join us.'
