PARK SLOPE HISTORIC DISTRICT
This District, adjoining Prospect Park, is one of the most beautiful residential neighborhoods in the city. with its wide avenues and tree-lined streets, punctuated by church spires and and row houses of relatively uniform height, it provides a living illustration of the 19th century characterization of Brooklyn as a city of homes and churches. The buildings present a remarkable cross-section of the important trends in architecture between the Civil War and World War I. Some of the Romanesque Revival houses in the District are among the finest in the nation.
