Part of the text is as follows: Known locally as The Prom This park was built in 1865 and originally called the Columbine Quay It was extended and refurbished throughout the succeeding century It was renamed the Kennedy Memorial Park in 1966 The Prom became a popular venue for band concerts and in 1896 Mr AH Smith-Barry MP and the Queenstown Amusements Committee erected the original bandstand at a cost of £400 It fell into disrepair and was removed in 1963 The most recent renovations were carried out to mark the Millennium Pictured here W7966 : Entrance, Kennedy Park / White Star Line Parade Grounds, Cobh
