This mural commemorates the 75th Anniversary of the May Days celebration in Port Coquitlam, the only surviving celebration of its kind in the Province of British Columbia.

Depicted here is the original site of the May Days celebration, where the Agricultural Hall (known locally as the Aggie Hall) stood until the early ‘70s. The first Port Coquitlam May Days was in 1923 – the costumes and automobiles depicted are typical of that period.

This mural is dedicated to the citizens of the City of Port Coquitlam by the Port Coquitlam Business Improvement Association. We thank the Kinsmen Club of Port Coquitlam, Grafx and the City of Port Coquitlam for their donations and support of this project

This mural is on the wall of the Inno Bakery in Port Coquitlam. The annual May Day celebration still continues (as of 2016, anyway!).
