Wattieza (division Pteridophyta, class Cladoxylopsida)
These fossils are stumps of some of the oldest trees known to exist. They are 385 million-year-old fossils of trees that grew in the Gilboa forest, a fossilized forest found during excavation for the Gilboa Dam at the DEP Schoharie Reservoir, southwest of Albany, NY.
