EVANGELINE OAK
Longfellow's poem “Evangeline"
immortalized the tragedy of
the Acadian exile from Nova
Scotia in 1755. This oak marks
the legendary meeting place
of Emmeline Labiche and Louis
Arceneaux, the counterparts
of Evangeline and Gabriel.
