The Society for Preservation of the
Duquesne Heights Incline dedicates
the restored Lower Section
In Memory of
JAMES PRESKEN
Mr. Presken worked for nearly 30 years to
PRESERVE AND MAINTAIN THE
ANTIQUE MACHINERY OF THIS HISTORIC INCLINE.
His great interest, enthusiasm and appreciation for the
equipment led to him being a very active volunteer. In 2003,
he was invited to join the Board of Directors of the Society.
He was named Vice-President in 2005 and served as President
from 2008 until his death in 2010. He was tireless in his
efforts to improve the operation of the Incline, to maintain
its safety, and to enhance the attractiveness of this unique,
world renowned site that he valued as part of Pittsburgh's
rich industrial heritage.
