Bank of Villa Rica
Carroll County’s oldest financial institution
May4, 1899 – June 24, 1996
The Bank of Villa Rica was Carroll County’s oldest financial institution, and one of the oldest financial institutions in the state of Georgia. The bank was chartered with $15,000 of capital when it opened in 1899. This was one of the few banks it survived the Great Depression.
This building served as the main Bank of Villa Rica from 1899 until February 11, 1974. From this site and subsequent locations the bank served the community for 97 years.
