First established in 1892 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, the Hospital is dedicated to the care and cure of the sick within and beyond the bounds of the City of Toronto.
The surrounding masonry has been preserved from one of the original hospital buildings, located on this site, to commemorate the early history and continuing devotion to patient care, teaching and research, according to the philosophy of the Sisters of St. Joseph.
"What you do unto these, the least of my brethren, you do unto me."
