A Journey Through Time: On January 1, 1913, Saskatoon's streetcars began operating, powered by overhead electrical lines and reaching all corners of the city. By the 1940s, the aging streetcars needed replacement. the city switched to trolley buses, using the same overhead lines but without tracks. The last streetcar made its final run on November 10, 1951, on the Mayfair-University line, which turned onto Temperance St. and Lansdowne Ave. at this spot. Many of the old streetcar tracks are still buried but the rails you see here were excavated from Temperance Street. Submitted by: @Saskajanet
