'Paradise Row' is a fine collection of houses in Woollard that were for mill workers. Woollard dates from possibly Saxon times, but was certainly part of the (Norman) Hungerford estate. The Popham family took over the village in the seventeenth century and created many of the structures still evident today. Two mills provided jobs and the workers could have lived here.
