Once the Home of Farms, Pastures, Tenant Houses

This chimney was once part of a tenant house owned by
Stephen Spruill (born 1870) who owned over one
thousand acres of land in DeKalb and Fulton County.
The tenant house, circa 1900, was located just south
of here, close to where I-285 is located today.
In the 1960's the house burned, but the chimney
remained until it was preserved and moved to this spot.
The chimney remains as a reminder that this land was
once the home of farms, pastures, tenant houses,
and pioneer families.
