This artesian well was drilled in 1880. It provided an unlimited supply of pure water and became a gathering place for Camilla´s citizens. When a water system was installed, the City Well lost its usefulness. Through the efforts of the Cherokee Garden Club and the County Commissioners, the well was restored in 1963.
