Lord President (and regicide)

This plaque, on the wall of a petrol station in Marple, marks the location of the birthplace of John Bradshawe (or Bradshaw), who was most notable for his role as President of the High Court of Justice for the trial of King Charles I and as the first Lord President of the Council of State of the English Commonwealth. (He was also an ancestor of the novelist Christopher Isherwood.) Information about Bradshaw can be found on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Bradshaw_(judge))
