I admit that this is not technically a plaque. However, it is ignored at least as much as most plaques. Many people pass this memorial for years without noticing it.
It is on a small sward where Interstate 89 and National Life Drive intersect (in Montpelier, Vermont). There is no pedestrian access and no parking for bikes or cars. It takes a bit of bravery and determination to visit it. Motorists passing by are driving much too fast to notice it, let alone read it.
It is an odd, lonely, lovely thing. (I couldn’t find any submission guidelines, so I hope this is an acceptable post.)
