IN 1815 AT PECAN POINT ON THE RED RIVER, NORTH
OF HERE. RECORDS INDICATE THAT HIS WERE THE
FIRST PRTESTANT SERMONS EVER GIVEN IN TEXAS,
THEN PART OF CATHOLIC "NEW SPAIN". MANY SETTLERS
ALSO ENTERED TEXAS THROUGH RED RIVER COUNTY.
