This is the plaque for the historic Archives and National Library of Puerto Rico. It reads, “Archivo y Biblioteca General de Puerto Rico,” and is in Puerta de Tierra, San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is a beautiful, late 19th Century, neoclassical building on the oceanfront, built originally as a hospital, I believe. It has also served as a prison and, later, a rum distillery. It now houses historical documents dating back centuries, as well as documents pertaining to the government of the island.
