FOG OFF PILLAR POINT AND WAS LOST.
NINETY-FIVE YEARS LATER THE
ANCHOR, FOURTEEN FEET LONG AND
WEIGHING TWO TONS, WAS RECOVERED
FROM THE SEA, A REMINDER OF MORE
THAN 85 SAILING SHIPS WRECKED ON
THE SAN MATEO COUNTY COASTLINE IN
THE LAST HALF OF THE NINETEENTH
CENTURY.
