John O’Donnell

1902-1970

 

The late Times-Democrat sports editor

And nationally known sports authority

During his career he covered many national and international sporting events, and entertained thousands of servicemen during WW II with his weekly “Dear Joe” column.  He often joked that he had spent about a third of his life in the press box at Municipal Stadium.
